Ashley Liveoak- Executive Director
I’m Ashley Liveoak, I am the Executive Director of Care Net of Chilton County and Selah’s Oasis Maternity Home. I am married to my college sweetheart Kacey and have a daughter Oakleigh. I am a graduate of Pelham High School (2005) and the University of Montevallo (2011). As a family we love visiting the springs in Florida—camping, kayaking, and exploring. Throughout my life God has been ever present, faithful and good. Walking through trials and hardships has drawn me closer to the Lord and I have really come to know Him and believe that His promises in His word are for me and for you! Before I came to Care Net, I had been laid off from my job and had no idea what I was going to do. The Lord placed me at Care Net almost immediately. I stand on God’s word that every life matters—no matter how that life was conceived it is precious and valuable in God’s eyes. I am also the Executive Director of Choose Life Alabama (Choose Life Car Tags). Through this ministry Choose Life supports and provides education for pregnancy centers, adoption agencies and maternity homes in Alabama. I consider myself honored to be a part of such an impactful ministry and I am humbled to get to serve families in Chilton County and Central Alabama.
Favorite Bible Verse: With God’s power working in us, God can do much, much more than anything we can ask or imagine. Ephesians 3:20
Melinda Danen
Outreach/Media Coordinator
Melinda Danen- Outreach Coordinator
I am Melinda Danen, and I am the Outreach Coordinator for Selah’s Oasis, and Care Net of Chilton County. Being raised in a military family and then becoming the wife of a Submariner, working as a server, a Certified Nurses Aid and receptionist has given me the opportunities to speak with people. In my spare time I love to make cards that bring a smile and touch the heart of the receiver, sharing pics, tips & tricks with others that also love it. I enjoy crafting in a variety of ways; it is one of my happy places. My other happy places are spending time and camping with my husband, Ray, of 41years (US Navy Veteran), spending time with our grown son Andrew, daughter in law Shawni, daughter Amanda, son in law Cody and family plus the newest member of our family, a miniature Schnauzer Buddy Ray! I became involved with Selah’s Oasis and Care Net of Chilton County in the hope to help make a difference in the lives of other women in a way that my own birth mother and I did not have. She had me eight days before her 15th birthday! Sadly, as a teen ending up pregnant from a date rape, I understand the fear of an unplanned pregnancy. Since I was adopted, I wanted that for the baby also, but my parents said my life would be ruined and arranged an abortion. The aftermath of that created in my heart such grief, shame, and disdain towards myself. Being here now, going through their Forgiven and Set Free study has given me a peace and hope that I never had! I want that for all who come through our doors at Selah’s Oasis and Care Net of Chilton County.
Favorite Bible Verse: “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, and his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23
